It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog about a cake, and I’ve done so many cool ones this past year but I want to write about this particular cake today…
I made a cake this past summer for a special friend, Silvana Frammartino of Impulse Photography. Silvana is one of the most gifted photographers I know, and one of the most genuine people I have ever met, so it was an honour when she asked me to design a cake for her father’s surprise 80th birthday party!
Silvana’s dad Vincenzo LOVES to cook, and one of the things he loves to cook is seafood. So I designed a cake that looked like a big cooking pot, and made a lobster, shrimps and clams to accompany the pot. I love making cakes like this one, because it really shows the endless possibilities there is when designing a cake. I had a lot of fun making it, and I loved the pictures that Silvana took of the party. You can see all of the pictures on Silvana’s blog here.
Happy Birthday Vincenzo!
