Pretty in Pink & Grey

One of my beautiful brides, Maddalena, sent me these lovely pictures from her bridal shower and I had to share!

I made her cake to match the colours of her shower, shades of pink & grey. Hydrangea flowers and hand painted silver accents adorn this soft grey cake to create a romantic and girly cake perfect for a sophisticated bridal shower!

Looking forward to making your wedding cake:)

The cake was exquisite; it totally reflected the shower invitation. Josie you are truly an artist; There is no doubt anyone who witnesses your work will recommend you. I can’t wait to see the wedding cake!! Maddalena worked very hard to ensure her shower came together exactly as she imagined; it did and then some. We all had an amazing time.

Yabba Dabba Do! Flintstones Cake!

Nowadays there are so many new shows and cartoons for children, and it makes me think of the shows that were on when I was younger. I wish those old cartoons were still on, they were all so good! One of my favourites was The Flintstones, and now my little cousin Vincent loves the Flintstones too! Even though it’s a classic cartoon from when I was his age, he still thinks it’s amazing! He watches the series on DVD, and he loves Fred and Barney the most.

So when Vincent turned 4, he wanted me to make him a Flintstone cake, and I made this for him with all my heart. It features the Flintstone home, complete with mailbox and stone driveway. Dino the dinosaur is popping his head out of the chimney, Barney is looking out of the window, and Fred is in front of the door.

Happy Birthday Vincent! Yabba Dabba Do!

Josie

Elmo Cake!

Sesame Street was a childhood favourite of mine, and it still is a favourite for kids today. There is just something about Elmo’s bright red fur and funny giggle that makes everyone smile!

Jace LOVES Elmo, and when it was time to make his birthday cake this was the only option! The cake was designed to match he invitation designed by his mommy, who is my very talented friend Daniela. A white background was the canvas for all of the bright, energetic colours of this fun cake.

Jace’s eyes opened up with excitement once he saw his cake, and couldn’t resist reaching out to touch ELMO!

Happy 1st Birthday Jace!!!

All I have to say is… AMAZING!!!! Josie, you out did yourself! Everyone was in love with that cake, it looked amazing and tasted just as good. Jace loves Elmo and he loved the cake so much!!! It was the best Elmo cake ever. Thank you so much for making such a special cake for my little guy. Your the best!!

Angry Birds Cake!

Every now and then a game comes along that takes over the minds & hearts of all who play it. Angry Birds is one of those games! The basic premise of the game is to shoot the different birds from a sling shot and knock over the green pigs who have stolen the birds eggs. I’ll bet almost everyone who has or knows someone who has an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch has played this game. It’s addicting and fun, and people love it!

My fiancee Lino is one of those people – he LOVES and is addicted to playing Angry Birds. So, for Lino’s birthday, I decided to make him his favourite red velvet cake decorated with an angry birds scene! It has all of the angry birds lined up to get a shot at the green pigs, and some are in motion knocking over the cement columns that the green pigs are under.

Lino loved his angry birds cake, and I hope you do too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINO! xoxo

Nautical Topsy Turvy Wedding Cake

I always say that not all wedding cakes have to be “traditional”. Sometimes is nice to add a bit of whimsy to your special day, and this can certainly be done with having a fun wedding cake.

This 4 tier topsy turvy wedding cake had a nautical theme. It was done in a playful yet tasteful design in the bold navy, white and gold colours of the wedding. The topper is a large anchor featuring the couples initials and has a rope detail that goes all the way down the cake, which ties the whole design together.

Have fun with your wedding cake and it will be the magical centrepiece of your special day!
